I suggested a couple of films to Siege yesterday that helps you get in the christmas mood...or at least they do me mainly for nostalgia reasons, however he said to put on the review section to remind him about it, so yeah why not.... he's just being lazy but meh it's a good idea, so I'll put up a few Xmas themed reviews and hopefully some of you guys can too![Very Happy :D]()
First up, Scrooged with Bill Murray

Tbh this is one of Bill Murray's best films during the time when he was a proper A list star and his name alone could guarantee ticket sales at the cinema.... There's only Ghostbusters which I can think of which is better.... during this time in his career.
That said, instant![5 Stars :5.0:]()

The premiss is that Bill Murray is this big television executive. He runs the network and it's his life, he doesn't make TV, he is TV.... that kind of deal. Coming up to christmas, the biggest TV ratings time of the year, he wants to make a christmas event that people will wish they were dead if they missed it.... The decision happens that they are to all work christmas day and do a live TV event, all singing all dancing of A Christmas Carole..... he is then visited at night by his old dead boss who says he'll be visited by 3 ghosts.... blah blah blah, usual Christmas Carole setup begins. Needless to say, thats where Bill Murray doesn't believe it, he's under too much stress etc etc, comedy and entertainment ensues.
Great family film with enough of Bill Murray's grumpy humour to make it not just an average cheerful film and conveys the old christmas message of, love people and they will love you back.
I believe it's already been on TV, but it's on every christmas and always worth watching. buy it on DVD or download it whatever... So many films and TV shows these days try and do a modern day telling on A Christmas Carole... this one does it right and i can't recormend it enough
Any other time of the year it would be an alright average film worth watching on a lazy sunday afternoon, but this time of year it's worth planning your evening around to watch
